Sports > More activities

Ok, so even after a few hours of surfing, kitesurfing, paddle surfing, you still want more things to do?

Let's sum up some of the other activities you could be doing on your surf trip to Swell Surf Camp

The famous 27 waterfalls day trip

Close to Puerto Plata you will find the Damajagua waterfalls, 27 (some big, some small) waterfalls make a great day trip. Always one of the favorites with Swell guests, go as a group to make it a social experience. Breath-takingly pretty and a good challenge to climb all 27 of them before you jump and swim down.
Don't want to do all 27? That's fine too.
Let a Swell staff member know that you are up for this trip and we'll organize it for you.

Attend a Yoga class @ Swell

Yoga classes inside Swell, no need to leave the premises, we get a qualified instructor coming in a few times per week if people want to join in.

Day trip to Playa Grande

Playa Grande is well...a large beach as the name implies. But besides being big , it's also very pretty. White sand and plam trees make a great place to enjoy the sun, sea and sand.
Hungry? Have a nice freshly prepared Dominican meal on the beach. Thirsty? Enjoy a pinacolada out of a pineapple .
If there's a good swell running we can also take the surfers to Playa Preciosa, the next bay up from Playa Grande. A spectacular cliff top setting with some of the best waves that central america has to offer underneath it (experienced surfers only)

Party!

A few minutes walk away from Swell is Cabarete's famous nightlife on the main beach. Fancy sipping a cocktail on the beach underneath a palmtree; this is your place. If dancing is more your thing then wait until 11 when all you have to do is follow the music to see where the party crowd is.
Safe, easy and great fun is how our clients describe Cabarete's nightlife scene. It offers something for everyone.

Mountain biking

Hard core downhill racing or a leisure trip to pretty scenery, we'll tell the guide what you are into and he'll pick the right tracks for you. See the North coast of the Dominican Republic, off the beaten tracks!

Horse riding

Another favorite from the many guests that we get at Swell, even people that are not into horses or riding them, come back saying it was one the highlights of their surf trip with Swell. Cross rivers and narrow tracks and get to see parts inaccessible any other way than by horse. Tommy the guide will take care of you and make sure that everything happens in a safe and fun way.

Wakeboard on the Yasica River

A short drive out of Cabarete is the Yasica River, a good place for kitesurfing when there's wind and if you like silky-smooth flat water. Don't want to wait for the wind or not into kitesurfing? Go and wake skate. Wakeboarding behind a jetski. Surrounded by a stunning setting on the river, it's a great experience.

Spinning class with Clare

Our own spinning studio is a one-of-a-kind experience, Clare or one of the other spinning instructors will inspire you to burn those few extra calories from the tasty Presidente beers. It's the most energetic way of working out in Cabarete. Those who don't like loud music and a highly energized room full of people need not come.

Treat yourself to a massage

Go on, treat yourself...you're on holiday, give those muscle that worked so hard with the surfing a bit of love. Different kinds of massages are available at very reasonable prices.

Take a windsurf lesson

Just because kitesurfing is getting all the attention these days, doesn't mean that windsurfing is passe. It's still a great sport and for first timers, not much wind is needed for the basics of this fun and action packed watersport.

Chill at Swell

OK, we could go on and on with things to do in and around Cabarete, but this list will do for now ,since our fingers are getting sore from typing. How about just relaxing for the afternoon at Swell by the pool in a hammock with a cold beverage working on your sun tan.
Being active is great, but doing nothing at Swell can also be a superb way to get through the day.... whatever suits you..it's your holiday!
